Our civil engineers support the communities in which we all live, work, and play through multifaceted engineering design tasks, project delivery, and interacting with clients and public agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including surveyors, engineers, and subconsultants as well as work with senior managers and technical support staff.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record for a diverse range of Civil Engineering projects, including streets and highways, culverts and canals, water and sewer mains, pavement design, grading and drainage, surface water management, earthwork, and more.
  • Design and manage civil engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. Responsible for scope, schedule, budget, quality assurance, and successful delivery of project plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.
  • Prepare and process permit applications with agencies such as SFWMD, FDEP, FDOT, Municipalities, and Utility departments, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and/or perform inspections and quality control checks to confirm contractor compliance with plans. Coordinate with Contractors and Construction Mangers regarding construction schedules, contractor submittals, and requests for change orders.
  • Contribute to proposals including written technical proposals, presentation of qualifications, and scopes of work.
  • Participate in project management including preparing scopes of work, fee proposals, client and subconsultant agreements, schedule management, team oversight, and budget responsibility.

Requirements:

  • 5-15 years of technical experience
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Florida Professional Engineering license
  • SFWMD and/or FDOT experience desired
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, 3D corridor modelling, Microsoft Project desired
